Non Contact Laser Encoder

Non Contact laser encoder provides a more accurate measurement option over tactile encoder, enabling converters and manufacturers to significantly increase productivity and quality.

Non Contact Laser Encoder

Conventional contact wheels and other tactile measurement systems, lose their accuracy over time due to aging or dirt built up, mechanical loss contributes to inefficiencies in yield counts.

iLaser 4 is a non contact laser encoder device. As such, it has a long life cycle with very low maintenance.

Non contact Laser encoder for length and speed measurements have become a standard measurement technology for many production processes such as Metals, Paper, Plastics, Timber, Cable & Wire, Textiles. Non contact laser encoders are most commonly involved in processes that involve continuous length measurement, cut control, post-cut length, differential speed, and position control, to name a few. As a result of the higher measurement accuracies and tighter process controls, converters are realizing a number of production efficiencies, more accurate yield, less raw material input and ultimately higher profits.

The iLaser4 system uses advanced, laser-based technology to precisely measure the length and speed of product during production without making contact with the moving goods. This laser encoder projects a unique pattern on the surface of the product. As the product moves, light is scattered back to the laser encoder unit. This information is translated into product speed and pulses are produced to determine the product length. Length and speed measurements are captured with better than +0.05% accuracy. The iLaser4 laser optical encoder with measurement speeds up to 1320 ft/min (400 m/min), ensures reliable measurement with no wear or tear of moving parts.
